Planning a sport fishing trip in Gran Canaria? Below you will find answers to the most frequently asked questions about our boats, fishing trips, equipment, transport, catches and practical information.
Our sport fishing boats are moored at Puerto Base in Puerto Rico, Gran Canaria. The marina is located in the bay of Puerto Rico and is easy to reach from the surrounding holiday resorts.
Yes. We offer a free transfer service from and back to selected holiday resorts. Please ask us when making your reservation whether your accommodation is within our pick-up area.
If you come directly to the port, we ask you to arrive approximately 30 minutes before departure. If you use our transfer service, please be ready approximately 10 minutes before the agreed pick-up time. Our regular fishing trips usually depart at 9:00 AM.
Advance booking is not strictly required, but we strongly recommend it. Our boats can be fully booked, especially during busy periods. Booking in advance ensures that you have a place on your preferred date.

With a private charter, you have the boat exclusively for your own group. This gives you more flexibility and privacy during your fishing trip. Please visit our fishing trips page for more information about the different options.
Our boats are equipped with modern navigation and fishing equipment. Depending on the type of fishing, we use different Shimano rods and reels. Equipment for trolling and bottom fishing is available, and the fishing licence, rods and bait are included in our fishing trips.
The species you can catch depend on the season, weather conditions and the type of fishing. Bottom fishing can produce species such as moray eels, sea bream, snapper, barracuda, amberjack and conger eel.
During the trolling season, there are opportunities to catch tuna, wahoo, dorado and different species of marlin. Blue Marlin is generally targeted from June to September. Fishing conditions can vary from year to year, so specific catches can never be guaranteed.
No experience is required. Our crew will explain how the equipment works and assist you during the fishing trip. Whether you are an experienced angler or trying sport fishing for the first time, you are welcome on board.
Yes. Children and guests who do not wish to fish are welcome on board. Our Family Charters are particularly suitable for families and guests who want to enjoy a few hours at sea. You may also have the opportunity to see dolphins, flying fish, turtles and, depending on the season, whales.
The waters around Puerto Rico are often relatively sheltered, but sea conditions can change and seasickness can never be completely ruled out. If you are sensitive to seasickness, we recommend discussing suitable precautions or medication with your doctor or pharmacist before your trip.
You are welcome to bring your own food and drinks. On fishing trips of 6 hours or more, a sandwich and a drink are included. On shorter trips, a drink is provided. Additional drinks can be purchased on board.
We recommend comfortable clothing suitable for the weather at sea. Bring sunscreen of at least SPF 30 and a cap or hat. In summer, light clothing is usually sufficient, while in winter we recommend bringing a sweater or jacket as it can be cooler at sea.
Regular shoes and sandals are not permitted on board. Nautical shoes specifically designed for use on boats are allowed.
We believe in responsible sport fishing. Blue and White Marlin, rays, angel sharks, sharks and other protected or vulnerable species are released whenever possible. The treatment of other catches may depend on the species and circumstances.
Yes. White Marlin is the only company officially authorized for night fishing in Gran Canaria. Night fishing offers a completely different experience, with the possibility of catching powerful species such as Escolar, also known as Butterfish.
Night fishing is available exclusively as a private charter.
